Annmarie Gianni Purify Gift Set Review – Part 1 “Citrus Mint Cleanser”

Back Story; ‘The Beginning’

In my quest to finding an all-natural organically made products to incorporate in my skin care regimen, I stumbled upon a brand named “Annmarie Gianni”. I must confess, it honestly wasn’t an easy discovery!

I could still remember how long it took me to find it, and so many things that were going through my mind. Came across different products and Brands, but they weren’t just what I was looking for.

Don’t mind me, not that I had a specific thing I was looking for. Well, I guess, all I wanted was something I could trust and give the benefit of the doubt as it was my first time wanting to go organic and cruelty-free on my skin care products.

Now that I’m thinking about it, that decision must have been prompted by the fact that I started to use pure, organic, and even home-made DIY recipes for my hair ever since I started its healthy and length-retention journey.

Back then, I was seriously battling with acne and was initially using products from the La Roche-Posay line.

The La Roche-Posay line did help my skin to become normal from oily. But, because I was so used to my oily skin type, I didn’t even realize my skin has changed. Which lead to me making the mistake of ordering products that were meant for oily skin types instead of buying normal skin type products.

Do not mind my rambling! With the back story before purchasing, I just wanted you to get the whole picture of it, so you wouldn’t make the same mistakes that I made.

My Initial Experience

Since it seemed like I have found something that interests me from reading through the promises of the brand, I navigated their website to see if there is or are any product I would love to give a try or even commit to.

Found series of products that were eye candy especially the “Wild Fruit Serum – Brightening Facial Complex” formulated for all skin types to brighten and even the skin tone.

But, as I was not familiar with any of the products, I decided to try out two of the sample kits, “The Pure Essential Oil Blends” and “Purify for Oily Skin”.

When I ordered the samples, I only paid $20 for the two kits (i.e. $10 each), the delivery fee was on them. It is like that for all of their samples, and a plus, you get a $10 coupon code that you can use when ordering the full size.

Basically, it means the samples are free!

I completely fell in love with the samples. They smell so divine!

At first, they felt strange, but the more I use them the more I found myself appreciating them.

With writing this article, you must have had a hint as to what my immediate reaction was after trying the samples! Yes, you’re right! I went for the full size thereafter!

Back to my experience with the product set.

Hmm… Before I continue, I would like to let you know that this review would be in four (4) parts since I’ve got a lot to say about the products. Each part would focus on each of the products in the set. So, stay tuned!

This is Part 1. Part 2 is about “The Purifying Mud Mask”, Part 3 – “Rosemary Toning Mist”, and Part 4 would be about “Herbal Facial Oil”. Altogether, there are five products in this set now, but they were four products when I ordered mine.

It has a citrus fragrance (with regard to how it smells), colourless, and a gel-like texture/consistency.

If you are already so used to foaming cleansers, this might be a bit strange to you, as it doesn’t really foam, but cleanses super well.

Aloe Vera Juice that is infused in herbs such as Calendula Flower, Comfrey Leaf, Neem Leaf, Lavender Flower, Plantain Leaf, Life Everlasting Flower, Lemon Balm Leaf, Rosemary Leaf, and Olive Leaf.

It also contains Lemon, Rosemary, Lemon Myrtle, and Peppermint essential oils.

Note: All of Annmarie Gianni Products are organically made without any synthetic chemicals. They are cruelty-free, and their ingredients are organically grown as well!

What I Love About It!

What do I love about it again?

It is the smell. It has a citrus smell that isn’t too overwhelming but rather subtle.

From the moment I pump a bit on my palm to apply on my face, till after I’m done with my skincare rituals, I always felt some kind of relaxing, calming, and soothing sensation that I honestly do not know which words would describe it perfectly.

More like one is in a deep meditation in a citrus fruits garden, with the trees blowing along with the wind, and the air filled with a beautiful and calming fragrance which gives one some kind of tranquillity.

Also, I love the gel-like texture a lot. It is not too thick nor too light, just the right consistency that adds a more luxurious vibe to it.

Yes, that reminds me, my acne inflammation drastically reduced while I was using the whole set!

What I Wasn’t Familiar With…

That would be the fact that it does not lather up!

I found this to be so strange to the point of annoyance. The first time I used it, I kept on applying more on my face just to make it foam and ended up wasting a lot of the product.

If you say I was indeed obsessed with lather. You’re not wrong. But, what to do, it just didn’t feel right and was not at all what I was expecting.

All thanks to that, my face became sparkling clean thereafter, and it felt like it was going to crack or tear from the extreme tightness. Gosh, not a fun experience!

Anyways, with that excruciating experience, I found out I do not need to use the whole jar of the product to have it does its job of cleansing my face. And about two to three pumps is more than enough.

My Final Thought

You could see that I had both my bad and lovey-dovey moments with this cleanser. Maybe without those times, I wouldn’t have fallen in love completely with it later on.

Although I later got used to it and even started to appreciate what seemed to be annoying at first, I still found it to be a bit stripping.

I guess my experience justified the fact that this product is indeed best for those with oily skin as recommended. It is when the importance of knowing your skin type comes in.

Finally, you shouldn’t let your skin dry too much before following it with the toner, and then moisturizer.

I believe you’re also going to love it because with reading through this article and review of mine, it has given you a better insight of the cleanser.

  4. ooh very interesting I have seen this brand Annmarie Gianni before but not actually tried any products.
I completely understand about the lack of lather. I recently used a cream cleanser that you apply to a damp face but don’t need to add water and you wipe it off with a damp cloth…not great for me.
One I do love it Oilixia gummy cleanser it comes out as a sticky putty but as soon as it hits water it emulsifies – its great. No need to wipe it just wash off and it removes make up really easily too – definitely worth looking out for.

    1. Oh really! Would love to check out “Oilixia gummy cleanser” as well. Seeing how confident you are about it, I think I might also like it.
